So as you know my whole thing is second hand books and the main place I get my books from are charity shops. (thrift shops) This saves me a lot of money and it’s super exciting when you get a good deal on a book you want to read. But the issue is you get very overwhelmed very quickly and just buy loads of random books. So I needed a way to deal with this and I finally decided on writing a list of maybe 5 books and I’m going to set some rules for myself. Let’s hope this works for my wallets sake.
So the rules are:
- I’m allowed to buy other books but only if they’re harder to find or they’re a book I didn’t know about and wanted lots.
- I’ll add a new book when I buy one so the list will always be at 10.
- If a book is on the list longer than 5 months I either have to kick it off or go looking for it on the internet.
Other then that I’ll keep you guys updated on my list.
The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials #1)
By Philip Pullman
This series was recommended by someone at work and it sounds like something I would really be interested in. I can also imagine this will be an easy book to find in a charity shop or second hand as it was published in 1996 and seems to be very popular.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy #1)
by Douglas Adams
This is a book I would love to read as it’s a classic. I know so many people who recommend this book and I would love to read this at some point. This is a good I’ve never seen in a charity shop but I want it to add this is the list as this is a wish list afterall.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: The Beast Within (Villains #2)
By Serena Valentino
I’m a huge beauty and the beast fan and I’m happy to absorb any media I can about it. I read Tale as old as time by Liz Braswell and I hate this book a lot so I’m hoping this one is better.
Ask an Astronaut: My Guide to Life in Space
by Tim Peake
I love space so much and Tim Peake is a huge icon of mine. This is a book I want to read a lot and I can imagine it’s something I would realistically be able to find.
Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House
by Michael Wolff
So I don’t want this to be a political blog post but this is a book that really interests me and I have seen it in a charity before but at the time I didn’t have any cash on me at the time. I really want to read it and know I can get it.
On top of all these books I want to get any Rohel Dahl books I can get as well as Horrible History, these are books I collect and will never turn down.
So let’s see how long I follow this and as I said I’ll keep you guys updated.
